Boat Upon A Bay
The gaping maw
Of days forgone
Overtake the frame,
But as I gaze
At future days
I see my purpose named.
Glistening blue
A gentle hue
Is all my eye can see.
Expanse, delight
The soft sweet light
Invite what I can be.
Courageous! Strong!
Virtues belong
To who I will become.
For the now, the Mount,
I’m getting out!
From underneath it’s thumb.
Remembrance of
The things I’ve done
A dark oppressive cloud.
When I’m alone
Shadows encroach,
I think I see them now.
Unceasing fall
They swiftly crawl
In corners of my sight.
It’s over fast
I own at last,
Futile was the fight.
Certain hope,
The ship that floats,
I know was just a wish.
Still, the brilliant sun
The untethered run
Lingers like a kiss.
Impending past
Has won at last,
Light falls up and away.
Pitch black cold
Penetrates bone.
Empty boat upon the bay.
